Visited early on a Saturday evening with friends and although we were the only ones in there due to the time, the ambience was still good, principally due to the lighting and decor and service. I had mussels to start with and although they were not as big as mussels I have had in the past, they were fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. The creamy sauce they were served in, however, was simply exquisite. Rich, complex and clearly the work of a chef who knows flavour. My steak, cooked rare, was on point. Tender, succulent and uncommonly good. Accompanying veggies were young, tender and bursting with flavour and cooked exactly as I like them, like al dente, but just cooked a little longer. The highlight, once again was the accompanying sauce, clearly prepared by a professional who has mastered their craft. I am not really a dessert fan but I have to say my profiteroles were rich and decadently tempting. My fellow diners, who eat out much more than us were very impressed with their meals also. In summary, one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had, in a very nice establishment run by friendly, helpful staff that are ruthlessly efficient and professional. We’ll definitely be coming back.
